Seeking Alpha Alpha Picks Review (2026)
Alpha Picks review: what Seeking Alpha's +358.80% claim measures, what the service costs, and what you cannot check before you pay.
Alpha Picks is the answer Seeking Alpha gives to a common complaint: too many ratings, not enough decisions. Instead of reading hundreds of Strong Buy scores, you get 2 names a month and a rule for when to sell them. Here is what that buys you, and what the headline number does and does not tell you.
Direct answerAlpha Picks gives you 2 picks a month chosen by Seeking Alpha's quant ratings, with rules for when to sell. Seeking Alpha shows +358.80% against +104.87% for the S&P 500 from 1 Jul 2022 to 22 Sep 2026, as a model portfolio it says is not audited. The price only appears after you sign in, and the full list of picks is for members.
- Checked on Seeking Alpha's own Alpha Picks pages on 24 Sep 2026.
- Seeking Alpha runs Alpha Picks as a model portfolio. Until 30 Jul 2024, each pick was bought at the open on its pick date. Since 31 Jul 2024, picks are bought at the day's average traded price. The benchmark buys the same amount of the S&P 500 fund SPY at the open on each pick date. Dividends are reinvested. Seeking Alpha calls the method consistent with industry performance standards, and says plainly that it is not an audited, compliant record.
- The full portfolio is for members, and losing picks are not listed on the public pages. We found no outside audit, and Alpha Picks is not on the scoreboards of Hulbert Ratings, which independently tracks newsletters (checked 24 Sep 2026). Review sites also quote different headline figures from different dates, so compare numbers only when their dates match.

What the +358.80% Measures
Seeking Alpha runs Alpha Picks as a model portfolio.
One detail is worth knowing. Since July 2024, a pick enters at the day's average price while the S&P 500 enters at the open. On most days the gap is small. It is still 2 different entry rules inside one comparison.
What You Cannot See Before You Pay
The full portfolio is for members, and losing picks are not listed on the public pages. We found no outside audit, and Alpha Picks is not on the scoreboards of Hulbert Ratings, which independently tracks newsletters (checked 24 Sep 2026). Review sites also quote different headline figures from different dates, so compare numbers only when their dates match.
Where AlphaYou Fits
AlphaYou's picks start from a different place: insider buying, where executives buy their own company's stock with their own money. Every counted pick is on a free public page with its price at the next market open after we published it, its price 60 days later, and the S&P 500 over the same days, losers included. Each pick is locked in before its result is known.
Where it is a weaker fit: our record starts in May 2026 and grades picks over 60 days, while Alpha Picks aims to hold for a year or more. If you want quant-rated, long-hold picks, Alpha Picks is built for that. Free accounts see 2 live picks. Lite is $29 a month or $199 a year.
