Capitol Trades is free and covers Congress trades well, so look for an alternative only if you need something it does not do. For the original filings, use the House Clerk and Senate disclosure sites. For many more datasets, use Quiver. For options flow, use Unusual Whales. AlphaYou puts Congress, White House, insider and fund filings in one feed with a page for each trade, and adds copy trading on Hyperliquid.

- Your keys, your funds
- Funds stay in an account you own. The trade-only key cannot withdraw or send them.
- Markets that never close
- Hyperliquid perpetuals run around the clock, so a copy can happen while you sleep.
The detail
Start with what Capitol Trades does well.
Capitol Trades is free and opens without an account. Its About page credits 2iQ's insider-transaction data and says new trades are published as close to real time as possible. On October 21, 2026 its Trades page, in the default 3-year view, showed 36,909 trades from 209 politicians across 3,077 issuers, with filters for politician, issuer, party, sector, asset type, transaction type and trade size, and a column for how many days after the trade it was filed.
Politician pages show each member's trades, issuers, volume and years active, and there are issuer, committee and state pages. Updates come through a Twitter feed and a weekly newsletter. If you only look up what a politician traded, there is little reason to pay for anything else.
If you want the original filings.
House members file with the House Clerk's financial disclosure site and senators with the Senate's public disclosure site. Every tracker on this list reads those filings, and a filing can arrive up to 45 days after the trade. When a number matters, open the original.
Capitol Trades, Quiver, Unusual Whales and AlphaYou show the same filings once they are public. None of them can show a Congress trade before it is filed.
If you want more than Congress.
Quiver's strength is breadth: congress trades, insider buys, 13F funds, government contracts, lobbying and more. Its own free plan includes live congress and insider data, so switching from Capitol Trades is about extra datasets, not access.
Unusual Whales adds options flow, dark pool and market maker data. Politician trade data comes with its paid plans, from Retail Basic at $50 a month. Its free tier lists delays of 2 trading days for options flow, 15 minutes for news and 30 minutes for alerts. Those are product delays, separate from the disclosure lag of the filings.
Where AlphaYou fits.
AlphaYou reads Congress trades, White House trades from OGE Form 278-T filings, insider Form 4s, 13F fund filings and 13D/G stakes in one feed. Each trade has its own page with the trade date, filing date, filing delay and a link to the original filing, and each politician-and-stock pair has a page that answers whether that person bought the stock. Pro is $29 a month or $199 a year. Every Congress and White House trade is free, with filters and CSV, and the free plan previews the other trackers. These records are disclosures, not instructions to copy a politician's trades.
It also lets you act: copy a qualified Hyperliquid trader from an account you own, for 0.05% per copied trade and no profit share. That follows crypto-native traders, not US stock portfolios.
Where it is a weaker fit: we have no options flow and no lobbying or patent data. For a head-to-head with a broader tool, see AlphaYou vs Quiver Quantitative.
