Choose a Dataroma, WhaleWisdom, OpenInsider or Hedgefollow alternative by the filing you follow. For a short list of well-known investors, Dataroma is the simple one. For 13F history back to 2001 and Excel export, WhaleWisdom is the deep tool, from $300 a year. For Form 4 insider buys, OpenInsider is free. For funds, insiders and Congress in one ad-supported site, Hedgefollow is the wide one, and $10 a month removes the ads. AlphaYou reads Congress, White House, insider, fund and 13D/G filings in one feed with the original filing linked, and adds copy trading on Hyperliquid.

The detail
First, work out which filing you follow.
These tools do different jobs. Dataroma follows a fixed list of well-known investors. WhaleWisdom is a 13F database with history and exports. OpenInsider screens insider Form 4s and nothing else. Hedgefollow lists funds, insiders and Congress trades in one ad-supported site.
A 13F shows what a fund held at quarter end and is due within 45 days. A Form 4 shows an insider's trade and is due within two business days. Every tool here reads the same SEC filings, so none shows a trade before it is public. The Q3 2026 13F deadline is Monday, November 16.
If you use Dataroma.
Dataroma follows the 13F portfolios of 82 Superinvestors. On October 26, 2026 its home page listed Q3 2026 updates for 2 managers, because most file close to the deadline. It also lists real-time open-market insider buys of $50,000 or more in stocks those managers hold, and stats such as the most-owned stocks.
The limit is the list. If you want a fund it does not track, or insiders and Congress beside the funds, use Hedgefollow or WhaleWisdom for more filers, or AlphaYou for one feed. If a short list of famous investors is the job, Dataroma already does it, and we found no price on the pages we opened.
If you use WhaleWisdom.
WhaleWisdom's free plan shows 13F data for the past two years, with email alerts, quarterly stats and a heat map. Standard removes ads and adds 13F history back to 2001, 13D/G history back to 2006, Excel export and API access, for $300 a year or $90 for 3 months. Pro is $500 a year and adds the Form 4 insider backtester and advanced backtesting. Its plans page says there is no trial and no refunds.
If you pay for the history, exports or backtesting, stay. If you mostly check what a fund filed this quarter, a free tracker is enough.
If you use OpenInsider.
OpenInsider is a free screener of SEC Form 4 filings, open without an account. Its menus list latest cluster buys, purchases of $25,000 or more, officer and CEO and CFO purchases and sales, and top purchases for the day, week and month. Filters cover filing date, trade date, filing delay, transaction code, industry and insider title. On October 26, 2026 its newest rows were filed on October 23.
It covers Form 4 only: no 13F, Congress or contract awards. If insider buys are the whole job, keep it. AlphaYou's insider buying and Form 4 pages list the latest purchases and sales with the filing date and a link to the original, next to funds and Congress.
If you use Hedgefollow.
Hedgefollow says it tracks 10,000+ funds and 100K+ insiders. Its tables cover 13F, 13D, 13G and Form 4 filings, with a fund rating, average buy price and price history beside each position, and it has Congress tracker pages. Tables open without an account and carry ads. On October 26, 2026 the site offered to remove ads and unlock features for $10 a month, and its terms describe quarterly or annual billing with no refunds on past charges.
It is the nearest swap for Dataroma if you want more than 82 investors.
Where AlphaYou fits.
AlphaYou reads Congress and White House trades, insider Form 4s, 13F fund filings and 13D/G stakes in one feed. Each trade has its own page with the filing date and a link to the original filing, and fund pages show holdings by filing quarter. On October 26, 2026 its fund directory listed 124 funds with Q2 2026 holdings.
Congress and White House trades are free in full. The free plan previews the rest: 8 holdings rows on a fund page and a 24-row sample of filing and insider history. Pro is $29 a month or $199 a year for full history. These records are disclosures, not instructions to copy anyone's trades.
It also lets you act. Pick a qualified Hyperliquid trader, set your limits and copy them from an account you own, for 0.05% per copied trade and no profit share.
Where it is a weaker fit: there is no strategy backtester, and the directory lists 124 funds. If the fund you follow is not there, check before you switch. For backtesting or a very wide filer list, keep WhaleWisdom or Hedgefollow.
