How to check one yourself
- Download the .ots proof file on any row.
- Install the free OpenTimestamps client and run ots verify on it. It reports the Bitcoin block and the time that block was mined.
- Check that block number against the one in the row, and against any public Bitcoin explorer. The block time is the latest moment the call could have been written.
The fingerprint is a SHA-256 of the call as published: the stock, the direction, the entry price, the exact publish time, the reasoning, the target range, and the filings behind it. Change any one of those after the fact and the fingerprint no longer matches the one in the Bitcoin block.
