Which stock research tools connect to Claude or ChatGPT?
What each one needs and covers.
Six products we checked connect to Claude or ChatGPT: AlphaYou, Unusual Whales, Quiver Quantitative, Equibles, SEC-API.io and OQRO. The difference you feel first is sign-up. AlphaYou needs no account or API key, while the others need an account, a paid plan or an API key. Coverage differs too: AlphaYou lists insider trades (Form 4), Congress, 13F funds, government contracts, financial creators and Hyperliquid traders. Checked October 29, 2026.
Install AlphaYou in Claude or ChatGPT
- Sign-up is where they differ most. AlphaYou needs no account, sign-in or API key. Unusual Whales, Equibles and OQRO need an account. Quiver needs an API subscription and key. SEC-API.io needs an API key.
- Filings arrive late in every tool. A Form 4 is due within 2 business days of the trade. A member of Congress must report by the earlier of 30 days after learning of a trade or 45 days after it. A 13F is due 45 days after the quarter ends.
- Coverage is uneven. Hyperliquid traders and financial creators are not listed on the other products' pages we read. Government contracts are listed by Quiver and OQRO as well as AlphaYou.
- AlphaYou wrote this guide and is one of the tools compared. Other products' cells come from their own pages, except where a cell says otherwise.
Which tools connect, and what does each one need?
Claude and ChatGPT reach outside data through MCP, a shared plug for AI chat apps. A connector or plugin is that plug, added once inside the assistant. We checked each product on October 29, 2026, on its own pages. The criteria: where it connects, what you must sign up for, which of this guide's topics its page lists, and one limit. A topic missing from a row is not listed on that product's page. Prices and limits change, so confirm before you pay.
| Tool | Connects to | What you need | Topics its page lists | Limit to know |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AlphaYou | Claude plugin directory and ChatGPT | Nothing. No account, sign-in or API key | Insider trades (Form 4), Congress, 13F funds, government contracts, financial creators, Hyperliquid traders | Read-only. Bounded samples. No stock quotes, analyst estimates, publisher news, alerts or trading |
| Unusual Whales | Claude connector and ChatGPT app | An Unusual Whales account. Free accounts get delayed data and some locked tools | Congress trades, insider purchases, options flow, dark pool, prediction markets. 13F is not listed | Paid plans get every tool in real time |
| Quiver Quantitative | Claude directory (a community connector) and ChatGPT with developer mode on | A Quiver account with an active API subscription and key. Plans are listed on its API site | Congress and President trades, insiders, institutional holdings, government contracts, lobbying, patents | Plan limits per dataset: Not verified |
| Equibles | Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor and other MCP clients | OAuth sign-in, no API key. The free tier is 100 requests a day, shared with its REST API | 13F, insider trades (Forms 3, 4, 5, 144), Congress trades, SEC filings, earnings transcripts, prices | 136 tools. Open source and self-hostable |
| SEC-API.io | Claude as a custom connector. ChatGPT: its guide says setup works the same way | An API key. A free key is offered; free-tier limits: Not verified | Form 4, 13F and every EDGAR form back to 1993 | Filing data only. ChatGPT setup steps: Not verified |
| OQRO | Claude and ChatGPT as a custom connector | An OQRO account (OAuth sign-in) and an active Pro plan for tool use. Prices are listed in its README | Form 4 and 144, 13F, Congress trades, federal contracts, lobbying, company financials | 22 tools covering about 850 companies |
| Bargo and Form4API (free servers) | Form4API lists Claude and runs on your computer. Other assistants: Not verified | A free API key for each | Bargo: Congress trades. Form4API: Form 4, with 13F, Form 144 and Congress tools on paid plans, per a directory listing | Bargo's free API covers the last 3 months of trades only |
How late is the data a connector can show?
Every connector here reads public filings, so none can show a trade before it is filed. A Form 4 is the SEC form that company officers, directors and 10% owners file when they trade their own company's stock. It is due within 2 business days after the trade.
Congress trades come from periodic transaction reports, which the STOCK Act (the law that makes members of Congress report stock trades) requires. A member must report by the earlier of 30 days after learning of the trade or 45 days after the trade.
A 13F is the quarterly list of long positions held by investment managers with at least $100 million in covered securities. It is due 45 days after quarter end and shows holdings at that date, not live trades.
Hyperliquid is a crypto exchange where wallet positions are public. A stock-linked contract there is a derivative, not a share, and a trader's past results are not what a follower would earn.
Which tool fits which job?
Options flow and dark pool data: Unusual Whales lists both, beside Congress trades and insider purchases.
Deep political and lobbying datasets: Quiver Quantitative and OQRO both list Congress, insiders, funds, government contracts and lobbying.
Raw SEC filings and transcripts: SEC-API.io for EDGAR forms back to 1993, or Equibles for filings, earnings-call transcripts and prices.
One free dataset: Bargo for Congress trades from the last 3 months, or Form4API for Form 4.
Several source types in one chat, with no sign-up: AlphaYou, which also lists financial creators and Hyperliquid traders.
What does AlphaYou do inside Claude or ChatGPT?
AlphaYou is a read-only plugin with 19 tools. It covers six smart money source types: Congress, insiders, funds, government contracts, financial creators and stock-linked Hyperliquid trader positions. It also covers SEC financials and earnings, Hyperliquid trader and wallet research, macro releases and weekly CFTC futures positioning.
Each answer carries the original source link and date. Missing data is reported as unknown, never as zero. Answers use bounded samples, not a full database.
It does not provide stock quotes, analyst consensus, publisher news or alerts. It gives no personal advice, does not connect wallets and cannot trade or copy traders. AlphaYou wrote this guide. To install it, use the plugin directory in Claude, ChatGPT, or the install page at alphayou.net/connectors.
FAQ
Do I need an account to use AlphaYou in Claude or ChatGPT?
No. AlphaYou needs no account, sign-in or API key. The other products in the table each need an account or an API key.
Can a connector show a trade before it is filed?
No. Connectors read public filings. A Form 4 is due within 2 business days. A member of Congress reports by the earlier of 30 days after learning of a trade or 45 days after it. A 13F is due 45 days after quarter end.
Which tools cover Hyperliquid traders?
AlphaYou covers public Hyperliquid wallets: rankings, positions and observed activity. The other products in the table do not list Hyperliquid on the pages we read. We did not compare crypto-only tools.
Does AlphaYou tell me what to buy or sell?
No. It answers about the stock or wallet you ask about, and the answer is the same for every user. It ignores personal details such as holdings, income or risk tolerance, and it gives no buy or sell verdict.
Can I trade or copy a trader from the chat?
No. The plugin is read-only. It cannot connect a wallet, sign a transaction, place an order, copy a trader or set an alert.
How was the table checked?
On October 29, 2026, from each product's own connector, setup or documentation page, plus Anthropic's directory page for Quiver. We tested no paid account and measured no speed or accuracy. Form4API details come from a third-party directory listing. Confirm current terms before you pay.
